NCS Fall Session 2021

October 2 - February 26, 2022

North Coast Strings invites you to join their Fall Session for 2021.

North Coast Strings is a Museum of Making Music program that offers adults the opportunity to learn or rediscover an acoustic stringed instrument (violin, viola, cello, or bass) in a friendly and supportive group environment. For this session all rehearsals will be conducted outdoors in the Museum's covered parking lot.

The Fall 2021 Session offers the following opportunities:

Orchestra One

Rehearses: Saturdays @ 12:45 PM - 2:15 PM
Conductor: Alyze Dreiling
Fee: $125

This group is geared toward the early intermediate adult amateur musician who has a couple of years of experience on their violin, viola, cello, or bass. It is also for the musician returning to their instrument after a long hiatus and wanting to brush up on technique. This level is appropriate for the learning musician who can read basic music and can play in a couple of positions. The repertoire includes pieces written for the amateur musician, and pieces from the classical repertoire arranged for the student musician. The repertoire for this session includes pieces by Beethoven and Handel along with some light tunes.

North Coast Strings Orchestra

Rehearses: Saturdays @ 2:45 PM - 4:30 PM
Conductor: Alyze Dreiling
Fee: $150

This group is intended for the advanced amateur player who reads music, is fairly comfortable on their instrument, and plays in position. Pieces are chosen with the adult amateur musician in mind and are original versions selected from the classical repertoire. The repertoire selections for the Fall 2021 session include works by Purcell (Pavane and Chacony), Mendelssohn (String Symphony No.10), Sibelius (Impromptu for Strings), and Holst (Moorside Suite for Strings).

Enrollment in both Orchestra One AND North Coast Strings Orchestra is $250.  Enter NCSFALL21 to receive the discount when enrolling online (both groups must be in your cart at checkout)

Full and partial scholarships are available.  Please contact for a scholarship application.
