Can I take photos or videos?
Yes, we encourage visitors to document and share their experiences at the Museum of Making Music, a program of The NAMM Foundation.
Personal photography and video recording are permitted in the galleries unless otherwise noted.
To help protect the Museum’s collections and ensure an enjoyable experience for all guests, the following policies apply:
Photo & Video Policies
- Photography and video are permitted for personal, non-commercial use only.
- Images and videos may not be published, sold, reproduced, transferred, distributed, or otherwise used for commercial purposes.
- Flash photography, tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, and video recording equipment are not permitted.
- Special photography projects, media activity, or professional shoots require advance approval from NAMM’s Communications Department.
- Visitors must refrain from photographing staff, volunteers, or other guests without their consent.
- Photography may be restricted in certain exhibitions or around specific loaned objects.
- Out of respect for the Museum’s collections, artists, and donors, we appreciate your cooperation with these guidelines.
